Choosing to Live Unedited

By definition, unedited means not changed, omitted, or censored—raw and original.

I chose this path because for four years, I lived outside of the will of God. I wandered, and in that season, I lost everything. But like the Prodigal Son, when I finally came to myself and returned home, I made a promise—not only to God, but to myself: I would live honestly and love others without the weight of man-made expectations.

We don’t always know how to take the hard parts of our story to Jesus—and sometimes we don’t say them out loud to anyone at all. It can leave us feeling unworthy to go to Him, and the stigma we sometimes encounter from others only pushes us further away.

But the Word tells us something different:

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." — John 3:17

I stopped giving God my highlight reel and started giving Him the truth—the hurt, the fear, the shame, the guilt, and even the struggle with anger. I found that Jesus isn’t looking for a performance; He’s looking for us.

The Birth of Unedited

Our plans don’t always go the way we want. Sometimes the plan just falls apart in our face. That’s where bold, honest conversations with God take place, and unedited faith becomes the action that keeps us trusting in His plan for our lives.

By the summer of 2025, I was stuck. Fear had taken over. I was buried under “what ifs,” weighed down by hurt, and convinced I didn’t know how to do any of it. On a Sunday afternoon, I said to God, “I’m so afraid I’ll fail You.” Then I was reminded, “…he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it…”

Finally, I surrendered to the calling and said, “Okay, God. I’ll do it.”

So Unedited Faith was born.

The Purpose of Unedited

For too long, the church has stayed quiet about the things that leave people carrying shame. We’ve overlooked the reality of trauma—both spiritual and personal—and the weight it leaves behind.

I made the decision that I would no longer be silent about the things that once kept me hidden, choosing instead to be a voice for those who are still finding their way out.

But life isn’t always heavy, and this space reflects that too. There’s room here for laughter, friendship, the memories that shaped us, and the simple joys that remind us not to take everything so seriously.

To the woman who feels overwhelmed by life
the one who sits in her car in the driveway for a few extra minutes just to breathe
the one who’s trying to hold it all together

For the one who thinks she's too far gone.....
